An oral leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) for the maintenance treatment of asthma. Available as a tablet, it blocks the effects of substances which cause constriction of the airways, build-up of mucus in the lungs and inflammation of the breathing passages.

Zafirlukast

A beta 2-agonist that has a fast-acting, long-lasting bronchodilatory effect. Oxis is delivered using the inhaler Turbuhaler.

Formoterol

6 and 12 mcg Turbohaler

An anti-inflammatory glucocorticosteroid for the treatment of non-infectious rhinitis, and for treatment of nasal polyposis. Non-infectious rhinitis includes seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), perennial allergic rhinitis (e.g. house dust mite allergy), and vasomotor rhinitis.

Budesonide

Indicated for the maintenance treatment of asthma in adults and children aged 6 years and above, where the combination of an inhaled corticosteroid budesonide (Pulmicort) and a long-acting beta 2- agonist formoterol (Oxis) in a single inhaler (Turbohaler) is appropriate.
